The 36th Fajr Film Festival announces lineup of 11 titles for its documentary competition.

The 36th edition of the Fajr Film Festival has announced a lineup of 11 titles to compete at its documentary section.

‘Iran’s Lady Qods’ by Mostafa Razzaq-Karimi, ‘Women with Gunpowder Earrings’ by Reza Farahmand and “New Wave” by Ahmad Talebinejad are in the lineup, the organizers announced on Monday.

The list goes on with ‘Finding Farideh’ co-directed by Azadeh Mousavi and Kourosh Ataei, ‘Blue as the Sky’ by Amir Rafiei, ‘In the Whirlpool of Extinction’ by Fathollah Amiri, and ‘Sarcheshmeh Assassination’ by Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian.

‘Gundeshapur’ by Soudabeh Mojaveri, ‘Razmara, a Silent Dossier’ by Seyyed Ehsan Emadi, ‘Shouting Through the Wind’ co-directed by Ata Mehrad and Siavash Jamali as well as ‘Sailors Never Go to the Sea Alone’ by Allahkaram Rezaei will also go on screen at the documentary section of the festival.

Since its establishment, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The 36th edition of the Fajr Film Festival is slated for February 1-11, 2018, in Tehran.
